This visit again renewed long term friendships as well as making new friends. Friday started with a guided tour of Wiesbaden one of the oldest spa towns in Europe, followed by lunch at the “Der Andechser im Ratskeller”. After lunch there was free time to explore or some retail therapy before driving up to Neroberg to enjoy the panoramic view of Wiesbaden and visit the Russian Orthodox Church of Saint Elizabeth’s.

Saturday started free of organised events to let the hosts arrange activities for their guests. These ranged from wine tasting, visit to Castle Sooneck, a pleasure boat down the Rhine and a visit to Bingen. In the evening a Gala Dinner was held at Boehringer Casino.

Sunday morning was free time, in the afternoon a guided tour of the Museum Village in Bad Sobernheim took us into past times. The museum’s exhibit consists of 4 complete villages were we experienced how people lived in Rhineland-Palatinate in the last century. Almost 30 original half-timbered houses from different regions in Rhineland-Palatinate have been moved to the museum. The exhibits in the villages demonstrated first-hand their way of life in the blacksmith' shop, watchmaker's shop, hairdresser's shop, grocery, butcher's shop, bakery, school, vintner and farm.

The final evening barbecue was held in the grounds of “Ingelheimer Carnelverein –IVC”, with music provided by a singer guitarist Rainer Schindler “The Flower Power”.

Finally, on Monday morning it was a sad but fond farewell to our hosts and friends from Autun.
